ZLD plants mean that where the maximum quantity of treated wastewater is recycled back & the rest sludge will be disposed of through TSDF, which is applicable to water constrained industries, having high tides/organic in wastewater, enforcement of the environmental laws, no discharge points & high pollutant discharge activity.
ZLD technology includes treatment and evaporation of the industrial effluent until the dissolved solids precipitate as crystals. These crystals are removed and dewatered with a filter press or a centrifuge. The water vapour evaporation is condensed and returned to the process.
